I went fishing the other day, and had a thought. Fishing in today's terms means throwing a sharp utensil into the water, and hoping some poor fish is dumb enough to bite, at which point we set the hook, and reel like crazy. That is NOT the right way to bring people to Christ. It is, in fact, the worst way to do it. See, when Jesus told us to be fishers of men, they used nets, which were much more humane, and gentle. If they pulled in too many fish, or some fish were too small, it was as simple and picking them out of the bunch, and throwing them back.
See, we as Christians, I have discovered tend to try to force people into believing in Almighty God, when in fact, he wants us to gently pull them in. Not proverbial hook them. We should not be fans of lip piercings. See, he wants us to go where the fish are, and cast our nets. Frankly, if you are not catching any fish you are at, you need to move. If a fisherman goes where there are no fish, he goes hungry. If he goes where there are fish, he can eat for a life time. If you are not bringing people to Christ, you either need to try harder, or move on. Matthew 28:19-20 reads 'Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the father, and the son, and the holy ghost, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, even unto the end of the age.'
We are ALL called to spread his word, and the reason our nation, and our world is in the sorry state it is in is due to the lack of people willing to spread the word. I am expecting heat for this, but I only ask that you present a legitimate argument.
